Focus45: Focus 45 Lunch Series with Photography (Free to Members)
On Thursday March 14, 2013 from 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm in Curtis Theatre
Join Joe Struble, Photography Archivist, for a casual lunch and conversation. He will talk about the Daguerreian studios that were established in Rochester as early as 1841, and thrived here for two decades making portraits of wealthy pioneer families as well as of ordinary citizens of the community. Struble will show slides of representations of these works, as well as the first known photographic image of Rochester.
About Focus 45 Lunch Series
Eastman House holds six collections that chronicle the breadth of the photographic and motion picture mediums as well as George Eastman’s personal, professional, and philanthropic legacies. The Museum staff members' stories are just as fascinating as the collections themselves.
Once a month, the Museum’s newest program series, Focus 45, will offer the opportunity for you to talk with staff as they share exciting behind-the-scenes stories, hidden gems of the collections, and information about their work to preserve and interpret the world’s photographic and motion picture treasures.
Bring your lunch or purchase a Focus 45 box lunch special in the Eastman House Café. Call (585) 271-3361 ext. 223 to have your food order ready for pick-up.
Offered the second Thursday of each month, this event is included with admission, free to members. Admission talk only: $6, $3 students.
