In Person: Scott McGee of Turner Classic Movies
On Saturday February 1, 2014 at 8:00 pm in Dryden Theatre
After the screening of Bullitt (Peter Yates, US 1968, 114 min., 35mm), Scott McGee, writer/producer for Turner Classic Movies, will discuss the film and its significance in the history of stuntmen and stunt driving in Hollywood.
About the Film
Frank Bullitt (Steve McQueen) is an all-or-nothing San Francisco cop hand-selected by an ambitious politician to protect a witness scheduled to testify against the Chicago outfit. When an attempt on the witness's life suggests that the assassins knew where to find them, Bullitt goes off the grid, moving the witness to another site, while investigating the assassins. As important the film was to Steve McQueen, it was even more important to the history of stuntmen, and particularly stunt driving.
