Valentine’s Brunch & Film
On Sunday February 9, 2014 at 10:00 am at George Eastman House
Enjoy a sumptuous brunch in the Potter Peristyle, followed by a film screening in the beautifully refurbished Dryden Theatre.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and brunch is served in the Peristyle at 10 a.m. The menu includes carved baked ham and roasted turkey, omelets, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, pastries, and tea & coffee.
After brunch, guests will be treated to a screening of The Shop Around the Corner (Ernst Lubitsch, US 1940, 99 min), in a wonderful 35mm print from the nitrate negatives. The basis for the 1998 romantic comedy You've Got Mail, the film stars James Stewart and Maureen O’Sullivan as two contentious shop employees who unwittingly fall in love with each other through their anonymous love letters.
Guests are invited to stay for a live performance of organ music in the historic house following the film screening.
Tickets: $35 each, includes brunch, film, and museum admission. (Regular film ticket prices apply for film screening only.) Telephone reservations are a must as this brunch sells out every year.
Please call by February 6 for reservations: (585) 271-3361 ext. 249.
Sponsored by the Eastman House Council.
