Founded in 1915, the Technicolor Motion Picture Corporation transformed cinema forever with its revolutionary color process. George Eastman House marks this important centennial with the landmark exhibition In Glorious Technicolor.



»Aura Satz: Eyelids Leaking Light

From January 24, 2015 through April 26, 2015 in the Special Exhibition Galleries.

London-based artist Aura Satz’s new work Chromatic Aberration (2014)—in which she explores the aesthetics of “color fringing” by using film elements from the museum’s collection—will be exhibited alongside her work Doorway for Natalie Kalmus (2013). Chromatic Aberration was commissioned by Tyneside Cinema (Newcastle, UK) with the participation of George Eastman House.



»David Levinthal: History

From February 7, 2015 through May 24, 2015 in the Project Gallery.

Presented to the public for the first time, David Levinthal’s History series is the culmination of the photographer’s workover the past 35 years. His large-scale photographs suggest the role that images play in both our understanding of the past and our personal relationship with history.

»Collecting Shadows: The Legacy of James Card

This exhibition celebrates the legacy and impact of James Card, the museum's first curator of motion pictures, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth.
