George Eastman House announces bands for 17th annual Garden Vibes summer concert series

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Garden Vibes summer concert series at George Eastman House is celebrating its 17th year. On four Thursdays in July and August, George Eastman House offers a unique outdoor venue for experiencing live music. Picnic on the Eastman House lawn, relax with friends, and enjoy family-fun activities, while at the same time basking in George Eastman’s historic Townson Terrace garden and surrounding grounds. Concerts are 6 to 8 p.m.

Thursday, July 8 Campbell Brothers
Rochester’s national stars of sacred-steel music, the band’s gospel-bred sound samples liberally from the blues, country, and rock. (Back by popular demand for a third summer!)
Thursday, July 22 The Josie Waverly Band
A local favorite who has toured nationally, Josie Waverly has been called the “New York State Queen of Country Music.”
Thursday, Aug. 5 The Sadies
Toronto's psychedelic roots rockers travel to Rochester for a summertime rendezvous.
Thursday, Aug. 19 Alfred St. John's Trinidad and Tobago Steelband
Experience the ambience of the Caribbean Islands with the band’s rambunctious repertoire.
Gates open at 5 p.m. All concerts will be held rain or shine (rain location is the adjacent Dryden Theatre) Bring blankets and/or chairs and your own picnic fixings, or purchase concessions on-site from Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Abbott’s Frozen Custard, and Eastman House Café. There will be no cash bar but you may bring beverages; a variety of non-alcoholic beverages will be sold.
Admission for each concert: $10 adults; $7 members; $5 youths (ages 13–18); and free to children ages 12 and under. The ticket includes admission to George Eastman House and children's lawn activities, which include a bounce house. Advance tickets are not required; you can pay at the gate.
